Only a week ago I was at Donington with Ben and Giles testing the FunCup cars - and a week later, we are entered in to Round 4 of the FunCup Championship at Silverstone.
What a diffrence a day makes, from glorious sunshine in testing to torrential rain and thunderstorms on race day! Ben and Giles had their work cut out.
With perfect conditions on Friday for testing, the Academy twin seater was on track all day giving driver training and tuition.
Ben and Giles were putting in some very good consistent lap times in the single seater, whilst learning the track and car. Both looking forward to their first race on Saturday.
With the race starting under the safety car due to the rain and track conditions, you can only imagine how poor the visibility was out there! Ben and Giles drove superbly considering this was their first ever race - and a very wet race. Failure with the window wipers made the visibility worse, but they ploughed on regardless. Jay Shepherd jumped in for the last stints and the team finised 14th out of 23 cars!
Fantastic result - and very well deserved. This championship is not easy to win!
Next race meeting is a 6 hour day to night race at the superb circuit of Anglesey 23rd/24th September 2016.
